Types of Yazhi (Yali)
A Yazhi (also spelled Yali, Yaali, or Vyala) is a legendary creature from South Indian mythology and temple architecture, often depicted as a composite beast combining features of several animals—commonly a lion, elephant, and serpent. Yazhis appear frequently in Hindu temples, especially in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.

Kazhai Yazhi:
Lion Body with Bull Head, Elephant trunk, Deer neck, Poisonous snake tail and Tiger legs.
Vanara Yazhi:
Lion body with Monkey head and Tiger teeth.
Gandaki Yazhi:
Lion body with Hippopotamus head.
Marjara Yazhi:
Lion body with Cat head.
Magara Yazhi:
Crocodile body with Elephant trunk.
Asva Yazhi:
Lion body with Horse head.
Sarba Yazhi:
Lion body with Snake head.
Vrika Yazhi:
